St. Petersburg, FLFebruary 4,
2004The freshest new concept to make a splash at American International Toy Fair
2004 is "Water Wheels"self-contained, pump-operated squirt gun kits for
bicycles. "Water Wheels" is the creation of Timothy P. Englert, a 43-year-old
engineering designer in St. Petersburg, FL. Mr. Englert will display this new product and
a fully-operational prototype Feb. 15-18, 2004, at booth #5756, Level One, at Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center in New York City.
"What started out as a project I
fiddled with in my spare time has grown into a full-time passion, consuming virtually
every minute of every day," said Englert, President, Time Design Inventions® Inc.
and Water Wheels Network Products Inc. (http://www.water-wheels.com). "Now, with my
patents and prototype as well as exhibition truck and trailer, I am looking forward to
this year's Toy Fair. It is the moment I've been dreaming about for years: The chance to
see my invention finally brought to market."
After years of refining his concept,
Englert will exhibit at the 2004 Toy Fair offering "Water Wheels" sales,
licensing, investment and buy-out opportunities. "Water Wheels" can be promoted
as an after-market product to be fitted to existing bicycles or as optional equipment
included with the purchase of a new bike.
"This exciting new product
represents an excellent opportunity for the right manufacturer or investor," Englert
said.
Not Just Another Squirt Gun
Water toys remain one of the most popular and durable categories for retailers and
manufacturers alike, as evidenced by the continuing success of pressurized squirt gun
products. Englert's entry into this market adds the fun of mobility, featuring twin
handlebar-mounted guns, a storage tank that is attached to the bike frame, and a pump
powered by the motion of the bicycle's wheel. With its ability to squirt water up to 30
feet or more, "Water Wheels" adds the excitement of extreme sports and bicycles
to the proven popularity of water guns.
There's more to "Water Wheels"
than just a bike squirt gun, which research has shown to appeal to kids from ages two to
19 and fun-loving adults 20 to 50. Englert has developed a complete line of options,
accessories and apparelfrom helmets, knee pads and gloves to bike pants and jerseys;
even tooth brushes, backpacks and pajamas.
A cartoon for television is in the works,
too. With direction and production from Nathan Heim, an award-winning illustrator at Tampa
Digital Studios, a Tampa, FL-based turnkey resource for every aspect of multimedia
production, Englert also has created an animated "Water Wheels"-inspired cartoon
adventure show. A CD-ROM of the first program, which received a prestigious 2003 Addy
Award, along with enthusiastic critical praise, is available at Englert's booth at the Toy
Fair and from Tampa Digital Studios (http://www.tampadigital.com).
About `Water Wheels'
"Water Wheels" consists of self-contained, mechanical pump-operated squirt gun
kits that attach to the bicycle. For smaller children, a battery-operated pump will be
available. The central component of the kits is a storage tank attached to the bicycle's
frame. A main tank is positioned along the frame bar extending from below the handlebars
down toward the pedals. A second (optional) tank can be installed behind the seat. A
connection hose runs from the bottom of the water storage tank to plastic squirt guns
mounted on the handlebars. Similar (optional) "tailguns" can also be mounted
behind the seat, facing toward the rear of the bike. A pump powered by the motion of the
bicycle's wheel controls the flow of the water to the guns. By pressing the button
corresponding to either set of squirt guns, water is drawn under pressure from the storage
tank, channeled through the gun and propelled outward at a distance of up to 30 feet. For
